Where are you located?
I am located in San Pedro California. I do travel around California but travel fees do apply to locations over 25 miles. I am available to travel out of state, for this option please contact me directly for all the information.
How far in advance should I book with you?
I recommend booking a session at least two weeks in advance. Clients with last minute needs, I always do my very best to make it work, for this option feel free to contact me directly.
What does the session fee cover?
All packages include your photos fully edited in high resolution with a personal print release in a gallery delivered within 3-4 weeks. The number of photos depends on your session type/package option.
What do I do about prints?
I offer a variety of prints/products in different sizes to purchase directly from your gallery. However, you have the option to print the photos yourself. I can only guarantee how the quality of the prints will come out through my services but I’m happy to make recommendations via phone. Canvases and other products can be purchased directly from your gallery or via phone with me.
When is the best time of the day to shoot?
My personal favorite times to shoot are sunrise or golden hour. For lighting purposes on these options, it's best to start shooting 30 mins to an hour after sunrise or an hour to an hour and a half before sunset.
I do also work in natural light, for this option please send me photos/videos of the layout of your barn. I find the location of the shoot is important when it comes to this, so I can find the best spot (even if it's only one the entire shoot) to get you the best photos.
How do I prepare my horse?
Priority for this option is getting your horse 100% comfortable where we will be shooting. If it’s a location the horse is unfamiliar with, I recommend taking all the time you can to get them familiar with the area. You want your horse to look its absolute best.
I recommend doing a show preparation on them. This would include doing some kind of work with your horse on the day before the shoot (riding, lunging, long turnout) and cleaning them up as if their getting ready to compete. Cuts, bug bites, tiny dirt spots can be removed but I am unable to transform a dirty horse to a good looking one.
The main thing to keep in mind is relaxed and happy horses are 100% the reason the photos come out best.
What do I wear?
I totally get how it feels being anxious about how you can look your best. The most important thing is to be yourself and wear what is most comfortable for you. I find comparing the colors of the outfits with your horse's color to see what color goes best with them is really important. I am more than happy to assist with whatever you need for this option just contact me.
What if I’m camera shy or am not photogenic?
I have 7 years of experience capturing the images that best fit each of my subjects. Whether it's posing, just chilling with your horse, or being natural I promise you will love the outcome of the photos. Just show up and trust me to do the work.
Will you photograph my clinic or be my personal photographer at my horse show?
My main thing is serving the best as an official show photographer and to my portrait clients. I am however super grateful for any opportunity I am given in this career and always want to do my best to make it work. For this option contact me directly for all the information.
Payment?
An invoice will be sent to you before the day of the session. The session fee will be due on the day of the shoot, I accept cash, check, Zelle or Venmo.
